Do I Need Air Duct Cleaning If I Just Installed A New Heating and Air Conditioning Unit?
Air duct cleaning is a great idea when you change or upgrade your HVAC system. A new or upgraded fan may operate at wind speeds higher than that of your old system.
This may cause debris to catch in your duct system and disperse into your home. Additionally, this creates a decrease in indoor air quality and dust issue. It is best to clean the air duct system just prior to having the new unit installed.

Why Should I Clean My Air Ducts?
The EPA states that a home can accumulate up to 40 pounds of dust annually. Some of this will eventually find its way into the duct system. You are at a greater disadvantage if your vents are located
Depending on the quality and condition of your air filter, many airborne contaminants such as pollen, dog hair, and skin dander may bypass your filter and end up in your ductwork and on coils. Moisture and humidity can easily turn dirty ducts into moldy ducts. This, in turn, compromises your entire home’s air quality. Proper air duct cleaning will not only remove these contaminants but will also increase the efficiency of your system and lower your energy bill. Learn the 4 signs that your air ducts need cleaning.

Air Duct Cleaning Process
1.Clean the furnace/air conditioner.
First we test the system for proper operation to make sure everything is functional. Afterwards, we disconnect the power before opening the unit. We vacuum the interior surfaces of the Air Conditioner and Furnace. With the use of a HEPA vacuum we clean the cooling coils and clean the blower unit.
2. Clean the supply and return registers and grills.
All wall, ceiling and floor registers are then removed and thoroughly washed and rinsed, removing all contaminants.
3. Clean the supply and return ducts.
We clean all air ducts using powerful air duct cleaning equipment. Decontaminate cleaned ducts with duct sealant, and kill odors with powerful deodorizer.
4. Install electrostatic air filter and odor control products.
Install odor killers in the return to control odors for up to 3 months.

Benefits
- Cleaner Living Environment
Professional cleaning your air ducts greatly reduces the amount of dust that would otherwise circulate through your house and eventually land on your furniture, bedding, flooring and just about everywhere. If your air ducts are cleaned properly you should notice a significant decrease in the frequency of dusting necessary to keep your home clean. - Reduces Allergens
Dirty air ducts are home to not just dust but also contaminants and micro-organisms. Some of these include pet dander, bacteria, pollen, mildew, and mold spores. People suffering from allergies or asthma are susceptible to these airborne particles. - Breathe Easier
With allergens and respiratory problems aside cleaner air is just way easier to breathe. Even in the healthiest of people those airborne particles can cause blocking and congestion in your sinuses. - Removes Odors
Every time your furnace or air conditioner is on any odors from pets, paint, tobacco and mold stuck in your air ducts will be circulated through your home continuously. Even just a surplus of dust can lead to an unpleasant musty smell. - Improves Air Flow
If there is any kind of blockage or buildup in your air ducts your HVAC systems will have to work harder to heat and cool your home. This leads to inefficiency and higher utility bills.
Air Duct Cleaning Cost
The fact of the matter is this: the average air duct cleaning for most homes costs between $300 and $500, with the price affected by factors like the size of the home, the number of ducts and their configuration. The average price for air duct cleaning is $35 per vent. (Source)
